January 2021 update - HHA's 14th birthday!

On behalf of everyone at HHA, we hope that despite everything the world is facing, you’ve had a good start to 2021! Firstly, we’d love to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated to our maternity and neonatal Christmas appeal. Together, thanks to your generosity we’ve raised over £15,500 which is a great start to our annual target.

With COVID lockdown 3 weighing heavily upon many of us in the UK we thought we'd brighten up your week with some happy news. This Friday, our partner hospital which we co-founded in 2007, will celebrate it’s 14th birthday! It’s amazing how many lives have been saved and transformed in the last 14 years. I still have incredibly fond memories from our first trips to Haiti where we refurbished an old, derelict house into our first community health centre. This centre has now evolved into one of the leading hospitals in north Haiti. Our good plumbing friend, George, came on that first trip (and has been coming ever since), and has always had a passion to see the hospital have access to good, clean, drinking water.

This week, the hospital’s receiving an amazing birthday present. 14 years on, a new water well is being built at the hospital to provide good, clean and drinkable water to all staff members, patients and visitors, thanks to the incredible support of our friends at Living Water. In this area around the hospital, we have a layer of clay (around 60ft) which protects the water below from sewage, and other surface contaminants. For the first time, we will be able to drill beneath that layer and be one step closer to providing clean, drinking water for the hospital and its patients.

This is where we need your help.
We need to raise £2,000 to support the first phase of the work, including buying a new pump and some pipework. If you'd like to help make this dream a reality, you can place a special 14th anniversary birthday gift towards the hospital on this page.

Please help in any way you can, whether through donations or prayers.

Thank you!
